Welcome Friends!

The purpose of St. Cloud Friends of the Library is to foster a closer relationship between the St. Cloud Library and the citizens of St. Cloud and its surrounding areas. The Friends promote knowledge of the library functions, resources, and services. We lead in the development of a program for the extension and improvement of library services and resources. And we aid in the provision of adequate housing and other facilities for the library.

JANUARY 2010:

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DRIVE: 

Members of the St. Cloud Friends of the Library will be receiving a membership renewal letter in mid January. Our goal this year is to enroll 100 new members.  Money received from memberships help the Friends continue to sponsor library programs for children, teen and adults. Last year many families attended the Eight Blackbird concert and 788 children completed the summer reading program due to your commitment and membership in the St. Cloud Friends of the Library. 

Membership levels are:

• Individual $15.00
• Family $25.00
• Senior/ Student $5.00.

You can also choose to add additional donations as well as volunteer for the Friend’s Bookstore, the Board, annual Brat Sale, Special Events & the Children’s Carnival.  If you want to become a FRIEND, you can either pick up an application in the Friends Bookstore, go to Become a Member from our website or email us at stcloudfriends@gmail.com.

Mark your calendars: the Bookstore Bag Sale is back! January 7-9th you can buy a BAG OF BOOKS at the incredible price of $2.00! 

FEBRUARY 2010

ANNUAL MEETING OF THE ST.CLOUD FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY:

The St. Cloud Friends of the Library will hold its annual meeting Wednesday, Feb. 10^th at 7 p.m. in the Array Room. Stop by and meet your Board members. Agenda will include the 2010 budget for approval and election of Board members. After the Board meeting there will be a MEMBERS ONLY BOOK SALE.  ALL BOOKS in the Friends Bookstore will be ½ price for members.  Our inventory is great and our volunteers have organized the books by categories (history, biography, mysteries, etc.) so it is easy to find just what you want!

Many of you have been very generous in donating books for sale in our bookstore and “thank you” hardly expresses our appreciation.  But we need your HELP:  Encyclopedias more that 3 years old do not sell and our storeroom space needs to be utilized for books we can sell.  You can list older encyclopedias at StCloudMNFreecycle-subscribe@yahoogroups.org or groups.yahoo.com/group/stcloudMNfreecycle This website offers a great service for anyone that has great things to give away and it is FREE!

 

The St. Cloud Friends of the Library is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.  Donations and memberships are tax deductible.

We are an all volunteer organization.  Profits from the Bookstore, memberships and donations are used to purchase new books and materials for the library and sponsor programs.
